Plain m&m's - by Darren Maurer

3" x 3"
I always like using m&m's as a painting subject. They are so universal and easily recognizable to everyone. I may not post new work as regular over the next couple of weeks because I will be working on my Federal Duck Stamp entry that is due by August 15. Once again this year I followed my usual very strict disciplined procedure of finishing the painting that cannot be deviated from. To the non artist subscribers it goes like this.....wait, wait, wait, wait.....and then PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The m&m's are painting 291 in my Painting A Day Series. Commission Painting - Sold.

Candy Cane - by Darren Maurer

3" x 3"
Have you ever tried to find a candy cane in July?????????????? It wasn't easy. Lucky for me my wife is a first grade teacher and she was able to find one left over from Christmas time. This is a commission painting for a client that had a specific request for a candy cane painting and deliver it by the first week of August. I agreed that I could get it finished by then but I had never thought about the rarity of little peppermint canes during the summer. I tossed around a few different compositions before settling on this one. I like how the viewer knows it is no doubt a candy cane without seeing the entire piece of candy. This is painting 290 in my Painting A Day Series. Commission Painting - Sold.

Peanut Butter & Jelly - by Darren Maurer

5" x 7"
What more can be said about the PB&J sandwich? Not much. I like how the color of the grape jelly jumps from the painting and becomes the star of the show. This is painting 289 in my Painting A Day Series. Painting Sold.

Tricycle - by Darren Maurer

6" x 6"
I always enjoy painting an old tricycle. It seems like almost everyone can relate to racing one of these up down a sidewalk when they were young. This is painting 288 in my Painting A Day Series. Commission Painting - Sold

Monopoly Go To Jail - Daily Painting - by Darren Maurer

6" x 6"
I have visited this theme before but the race car game piece and the go to jail square just go together. I can't resist painting the two together when I think of my Monopoly painting possibilities. I completed a commission similar to this idea a couple of years ago for a client that wanted to give it to a friend that had several speeding tickets. This is painting 287 in my Painting A Day Series. Painting Sold.
