PB&J #10 by Darren Maurer
20" x 20"
The gallery in Milwaukee requested another PB&J painting. I will be shipping this painting and the smaller one I finished recently when they are dry and varnished. I have about four additional paintings that will also make the trip. If anyone is interested in purchasing this piece contact the Katie Gingrass Gallery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Painting Sold.
This is a commission painting. The jar of honey sitting on the window sill was lit up from a sun beam in an otherwise dimly lit room. I thought it was a good look. I will let it dry, apply some varnish, and ship it to my client.
I'm not sure if I will ever get tired of painting PB&Js. Painting the jelly and making it sparkle is about as cool as it gets. This painting is is going to the Katie Gingrass Gallery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have been showing work at the gallery for almost a year. They have been great to work with and couldn't ask for better people to help me market my work. The PB&Js have been a popular subject for me over the past few years and I am working on a few more to ship to the gallery. Contact the gallery for purchase of this piece.
Miniature Masterpieces is a project involving painting and posting small original oil paintings, usually on an almost daily basis, in which I try to reflect the extraordinary within the ordinary by using everyday objects or scenes as subjects. You can receive each days painting by email by subscribing to the mailing list.
I'm an artist from Sioux City, Iowa. I grew up in Grand Island, Nebraska and have lived in Sioux City since 1989. Visit my website at www.darrenmaurer.com to see the full volume of my work. For this blog I'm going to try to make a painting each day. I may miss a day here and there just due to that thing called life. The paintings on this blog will be small oils. (I like to call them Miniature Masterpieces.) On occasion I may post a larger painting with the dimensions listed. I'm going to use an auction format (via ebay) to sell the Miniture Masterpieces. Paintings that don't sell at auction can be seen in the archive section and can be purchased with a personal check, money order, pay pal, or major credit cards through pay pal at the listed price.
