Another set of salt and pepper shakers??? Has Maurer lost his mind??? What is it about salt and pepper shakers that makes him think they are so cool to paint???? Maybe it is the clear slick glass surface with the shiney chrome plated tops reflecting their surroundings? Maybe it is the simple fact that the black and white contents of both containers are just that,.....simple? It is probably a combination of all of the above. He really likes the orange colored background on this piece. He wouldn't want this to get out or be taken as bragging, but he said, "This piece in person is stunning and every once in awhile I paint something and when I'm finished I look at it and can't believe I painted it.
