Strawberries #2 by Darren Maurer

6" x 8"
These strawberries were in the light coming through window blinds in our dining room. I think anything sitting in light coming through window blinds looks more interesting. I like the contrast between the shadows and the white plate with the only color being the strawberries themselves. This is painting 58 in Painting A Day Series. Painting Sold.

Overhead Apple by Darren Maurer

4" x 6"
The Morning Coffee painting inspired the rendition of this apple. I think sometimes objects are more interesting if they are paintied in ways that are different than the usual way we look at them. This painting is smaller than my normal miniatures that I have been completing. I'm offering this size of paintings only at an opening bid price of $79 on ebay. This painting 57 in my Painting A Day Series. Painting Sold.

Cherry Nut Ice Cream by Darren Maurer

6" x 8"
This is actually the painting for Thursday, May 18th, But I finished it late. My mother is decorating her kitchen with an ice cream theme. She asked each of my daughters to paint her an ice cream related piece of art to hang in the kitchen. They are finishing theirs and I decided to paint one of my own to give to her for her birthday. My favorite flavor of ice cream is cherry nut. This was one of the more difficult subjects I have attempted to paint. This is painting 51 in my Painting A Day Series. (Painting Not for Sale.)

Perfume Bottle by Darren Maurer

5" x 7"
Natural sunlight on perfume bottles is amazing. The colors of the perfume cause all kinds of different effects with the light. The bottles are all very interesting shapes and sizes. This little bottle acted almost like a magnifying glass and channeled the light into a very brightly lit area on the opposite side of the light source. This is painting 49 in my Painting A Day Series. Painting Sold

Night Time Window Sill Pear by Darren Maurer

Retired Bass Oreno by Darren Maurer

5" x 7"
I missed posting a painting yesterday. I found myself with very little time to paint as I was catching up on some household chores that had been ignored the past few weeks. I decided I would rather miss a day here and there rather than post something that wasn't good work. This painting shows an old very worn out Bass Oreno fishing lure. It is retired and hangs from a rusty nail after many years of successful topwater fishing action. I love old fishing lures like this one. They each have a story to tell and maybe remind you of the long ago fishing partner. This one reminds me of my Grandpa. Actually... all fishing lures remind me of my Grandpa! This is painting 42 in my Painting A Day Series.

Pickle by Darren Maurer

5" x 7"
As soon as my older daughter's Monopoly painting was posted, my younger daughter was hot on my tail. She wanted to know where her painting was. Our older daughter really loves the game Monopoly so it was easy to decide what to paint. Our younger daughter was not as easy. She's a firecracker!! But there is one constant in her life...her love of dill pickles. What's a dad to do? This one is for my little firecracker and is not for sale. This is painting 37 in my Painting A Day Series.
